Town of Black Diamond
Event Posters
Notes from the designer.
In 2018 I collaborated with the Town of Black Diamond’s EDC event coordinator to create a collection of posters for their summers - fall events.
The three posters were for their Diamond Music Festival, 50th anniversary of their Diamond Valley Parade and their Septembeer Fest.
Working with the team at the Town of Black Diamond was an absolute blast. I have been going into the Town office since I was 6 months old, so being able to work in that space as an adult was a treat.
Our first poster was the Diamond Valley Parade. Since 2018 marked the 50th Anniversary of this parade, we wanted to highlight the history and showcase all the amazing floats and people that have been part of this production for the last 50 years.
The focal point of this poster was the images that display the growth of the community. There were so many amazing images it was hard to choose.
The Diamond Music Festival is an outdoor music festival featuring many performers and music from a variety of genres’. It focuses on the immense musical talents that we boast in our community.
Guitars are a universal symbol of music, which is why we chose it as the centre design. We used the diamond shapes to further represent the Town of Black Diamond.
Adding the wood texture in the background completed to the design.
The last poster I worked on with the Town of Black Diamond was their SeptemBeer Festival (now called Fall Festival).
Beer with frothy heads being clinked together are a symbol of celebration. We used a diamond shaped mug to represent the Town of Black Diamond, who’s logo is a diamond.
Town of Black Diamond is part of the farming & ranching community. We wanted to represent that by using a wheat sheaves in the background.
